En la Cuidad de Chihuahua, a los cuatro dias del mes de Octubre de 1883 ante mi, M.R.P. Juez del Estado civil, se presento el C. ( caballero ) Francisco Ortega, originario del Estado de Tlaxcala, y en presencia de los testigos C.C. ( los caballeros) Nicolas Torres y Magdaleno Raiza (or Baiza) dijo: que el dia veinticuatro de Septiembre del curriente ano nacio una nina en esta Cuidad y debera llamarse, Ma Mercedes Ortega, hija lijitima del exponente de 36 anos de edad y Da ( Dona) Trinidad Gutierres de 26 anos, y son los abuelos paternos, Francisco Ortega y Fancisca Najera, y los maternos no los conocio. Yo el presente Juez mande levantar esta acta que firme con el exponente y testigos. Doy fe.

In the city of Chihuahua, on the fourth day of the month of October of 1883, before me, M.R.P. (Manuel Ruiz de la Pena), Civil Judge of the State, the gentleman, Francisco Ortega, originally from the state of Tlaxcala, presented himself before me, in the presence of witnesses: the gentlemen, Nicolas Torres and Magdaleno Raiza, to say that on the twenty fourth day of September, of the current year, a girl was born in this city and she is named, Ma (Maria) Mercedes Ortega, legitimate daughter of the expounder (spokesman) of 36 years of age and the lady, Trinidad Gutierres, age 26; and the paternal grandparents are: Francisco Ortega and Francisca Najera, and the maternal grandparents are not known to me. I, the present Judge, ordered this act to stand, which I sign with the expounder (spokesman) and the witnesses. In good faith.
